Why do we keep funneling people into windowless malls when the Lower Düden is literally dumping freshwater into the sea just a few miles away? The Düden Waterfalls: A Tale of Two Cascades
Nature didn't just give Antalya one waterfall; it gave it a system. We start with the Upper Düden Waterfall, located about 10 km from the city center. It’s a lush, green escape where the water drops 22 meters. There are hidden caves behind the falls—go inside if you don't mind a bit of mist on your lens.
Later, you'll witness the Lower Düden Waterfall. This is the "money shot" of the region. The water plunges 40 meters directly off the rocky cliffs into the Mediterranean. It’s a raw display of power that makes most city fountains look quite pathetic.
Mediterranean Perspectives: The Boat Trip
You haven't really seen the coastline until you've been on the receiving end of a sea breeze. From the Historic Harbor, we set sail for a short cruise. This is the best way to see the Lower Düden; seeing it from the top is one thing, but looking up at that wall of water from the deck of a boat is how you truly appreciate the scale. You'll also get a panoramic view of the city's ancient fortifications that most tourists miss from the street level.
Kaleiçi: Walking Through Time
The day winds down in Kaleiçi, the heart of old Antalya. This isn't a museum; it’s a living neighborhood with narrow, winding streets that have seen everything from Roman soldiers to Ottoman merchants.
