Know before you go

  • Please note that accommodation is not included. You need a 2-night stay in Inverness.
  • Please use the city center drop-off/meetup point at Inverness Cathedral on Ardross Street, IV3 5NN to reference local accommodation to book. We can send you a list of local places to stay and recommend booking with a flexible cancellation policy.
  • Please ensure that you have a working phone number for the lead traveler attached to the booking.
  • We do not allow group bookings for more than 8 passengers, but welcome larger groups to reach out for private excursions.
  • You may bring a piece of medium sized luggage which can weigh up to 15 kg per person, as well as a smaller bag to be brought with you onboard the bus.
  • Please note that we cannot allow children under the age of 7 onboard the tour, and we are unable to make any exceptions.
  • The 7PM arrival time to Edinburgh is an estimate. Please allow a minimum of 2 hours past planned arrival time for any onward travel in case of delays.

Itinerary

Departure from Edinburgh

Depart Edinburgh City Centre and head west, leaving the bustle of the city behind.

The Kelpies

Stop for photos of the Kelpies, the world's largest equine sculptures, before continue north through Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park.

Take a break in Callander

Stop for a short while in the town of Callander; “The Gateway to the Highlands.” Nestled at the foot of the Trossachs Callander offers plenty of places to stock up on refreshments and an opportunity to stretch your legs.

Glencoe

Explore the valley of Glencoe, a renowned natural landmark featured in films such as “James Bond’s Skyfall” and “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban”. Stop for photos and learn more about Glencoe’s history, including the 1692 massacre of the MacDonald clan.

Admire the Sight of the Glenfinnan Viaduct

Travel north-west to discover the stunning Glenfinnan Viaduct, beautifully set among mountains on the shores of Loch Shiel.

Visit the Commando Memorial

Stop at the Commando Memorial, located at a training ground for Britain’s Special Forces. Weather permitting, you may also spot Ben Nevis, the tallest mountain in the United Kingdom.

Stay Overnight in Inverness

After a short drive, arrive in Inverness, the largest city of the Highlands, where you’ll stay for 2 nights, choosing from a local guesthouse, hostel, or hotel.

Explore the Northern Highlands

Depart Inverness and drive across the Kessock Bridge to the Black Isle and marvel at the spectacular scenery of Achnasheen and Loch Carron.

Arrive on the Isle of Skye

After arriving on the Isle of Skye, enjoy a stop in Portree where you can purchase lunch in one of the many cosy pubs, restaurants, and bakeries.

Explore the Trotternish Peninsula

Discover the stunning Trotternish Peninsula, with iconic rock formations which have made this area the perfect backdrop for famous movies. Admire breathtaking natural landmarks like the Cuillin Mountains, the Old Man of Storr, Kilt Rock, and the Quiraing.

Discover Eilean Donan Castle

In the late afternoon, stop for photographs at the iconic Eilean Donan Castle, featured in "Highlander" and "Made of Honor,".

Return to Inverness

Return to Inverness through stunning Glen Shiel. Enjoy the evening at your leisure.

Explore Loch Ness on an Optional Boat Cruise

Depart Inverness and make your way to the northern shores of Loch Ness, where you can join an optional boat cruise. Discover the features, history, and lore of the beautiful area surrounding the loch.

Explore Scottish history at Culloden & Clava Cairns

Head south to visit Culloden Battlefield, site of the last Jacobite Rising, then 'Clava Cairns', incredible 4,000-year-old, Bronze-Age standing stones

Visit the Highland Folk Museum

Experience Highland life in the 17th century. See the buildings, the clothes and weapons, and how people lived 300 years ago. During the winter season, stop at Ruthven Barracks instead.

Stop in Pitlochry

Discover Pitlochry, where you can enjoy a relaxing stroll through the charming village before continuing the journey south.

Return to Edinburgh via the Forth Bridges

Continue south across the famous Forth Bridges on the journey back to Edinburgh, arriving at approximately 7:00 PM.
